Over 5,000 without power in West Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA – Thousands of West Kelowna residents are without power this afternoon due to a downed power line.

B.C. Hydro says over 5,000 customers southwest of Westside Road, East of Highway 97, North of Boucherie Road, North of Old Raven Road and west of Juliann Road are without power.

Crews are on the scene and investigating, according to B.C. Hydro's website.

Crews are responding to Tallus Ridge Drive and Shannon Lake Road for reports of a damaged power line, but it's unclear what caused the damage," the site says.

No word when the power will come back on.
