VIDEO: One woman’s effort to help Kelowna’s homeless

KELOWNA – The Gospel Mission is reaching out to the public for help with the City’s growing homelessness issue.

Kelowna’s Gospel Mission, a homeless shelter located on Leon Avenue, has put together a video to raise awareness on Kelowna’s homeless. The video follows outreach worker JoAnne McKenzie, during one of her morning routines.

“It’s somebody’s son, it’s somebody’s brother, it’s somebody’s uncle and you know they’re down on their luck,” says McKenzie in the video. “If we can help them and work together as a community I feel that we can put a dent on the homelessness in Kelowna so that they can get the help that they need.”
