Reported break in a false alarm, suspects arrested anyway
PENTICTON – A police call to a Penticton firm for a possible break and enter ended with two men arrested on other charges.
Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police received a report of two men attempting to break into a Martin Street accounting firm, located in the 600 block at around 7:55 p.m. Aug. 3.
Police found no evidence of a break in, but did find two men sitting in lawn chairs outside the business, smoking drugs.
A 20-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication and held in custody until sober, while the second man was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
The second man, a 25 year old from Kelowna, was held for a court appearance last week.
