Stray dog found in wildfire evacuation zone gets first surgery
KAMLOOPS – A four-legged evacuee is getting the treatment it needs after being found in a wildfire evacuation zone near Kamloops.
Kamloops and District SPCA says in a Facebook post that Badger, a six-year-old border collie-corgi mix, came into the branch riddled with mammary tumours.
She required extensive surgery so the Kamloops branch put out a call for people to help fund Badger's surgery.
Within two days, the branch says, the fundraising goal was reached and Badger was able to undergo her first surgery.
"Badger has already undergone her first surgery and in a months times she will get her second one." the branch says in its Facebook post. "In the meantime Badger is recovering in a foster home and will not be up for adoption until after she has healed from all surgeries."
