Wildfire near Sun Peaks grows slightly

KAMLOOPS – A small fire in the Whitecroft area near Sun Peaks has grown slightly since yesterday, but no structures are threatened.

The Heffley-Louis Creek fire has grown to just over one hectare, compared to 0.7 hectares yesterday afternoon, July 26.

The fire is north of Heffley Lake, just before Sun Peaks.

The lightning-caused blaze is not threatening any structures at this point, B.C. Wildfire information officer Rachel Witt says.

"I know that crews and air support are assigned to the fire today," she says.

Witt says there are currently no numbers available on containment of the fire.
