Penticton RCMP report another street holdup
PENTICTON – A Penticton man was victimized in a hold-up last week, similar to one reported to police the week previous.
Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a man was assaulted with bear spray on Windsor Avenue at night on June 26.
The victim told police he was followed down the street by a man whose face was covered with a white bandana.
Wrigglesworth says the suspect pulled out a can of bear spray and demanded whatever valuables the victim had on him. The victim wasn’t carrying anything of value, but was bear sprayed anyway.
The victim didn't report the crime until the following day becausehe didn’t have a phone.
Police are continuing their investigation, without much to go on, Wrigglesworth says. They are looking for a man, approximately 20 years old, with black clothes.
The incident was similar to a hold-up on Windsor Avenue at Argyle Street on June 20, where a man was robbed after being threatened by a man with brass knuckles.
