KELOWNA – Police are investigating what they say was a targeted attack that occurred early this morning at a Kelowna motel.

RCMP say a report of an assault came in from a motel in the 2600 block of Highway 97 North at 4:57 a.m. today, June 27.

The victim is a 38-year-old man and was treated by paramedics on scene, according to an RCMP media release. He was taken to hospital and his injuries are non life-threatening.

Officers have secured the scene and waiting for a search warrant to continue the investigation.

“RCMP believe the attack was targeted and not random,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.
