Penticton RCMP investigating homicide

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating the city’s second homicide of the year.

RCMP say officers responded to a call about a sudden death at a home on Woodlands Drive in Penticton around 5 a.m. today, June 12.

"Upon attendance police discovered a deceased male victim of an apparent homicide," Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says in a media release. "Currently there is one person in custody."

Officers from the Penticton RCMP Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section are working on the case.

"There will be no further information released at this time as police work to identify the victim and notify the next of kin," Wrigglesworth says.

This is the second homicide in Penticton this year following a shooting that took place on Creston Avenue on April 26.

As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
