Residences, vehicles targeted by Penticton thieves

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP responded to several break and enters in and outside the city last week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police were called to a Wiltse Boulevard home on May 9 around 9:50 a.m. after a resident discovered their vehicle had been broken into overnight.

Missing was a bag containing grade 12 textbooks, keys, and a wallet.

At 12:20 p.m. the same day police were called to an address in the 500 block of Duncan Avenue West, where a victim reported the theft of a wallet, large blue purse, brown moccasin shoes and keys from an unlocked gym locker. A bank card was used to make a tap feature purchase for $100 shortly after the theft. The matter continues to be investigated.

Police also responded to an Okanagan Falls residence May 10, on Cherry Crescent after a resident reported a break and enter in which an iPad, Toshiba tablet and keys were stolen.

The same day a vehicle parked on Chase Avenue had its satellite radio system stolen.

Police were able to recover a motorcycle in the afternoon of May 10 following its theft from a Wiltse Drive residence earlier that day. The motorcycle was found on Galt Avenue.

On May 12, an Okanagan Falls resident on Maple Street reported the theft of his 2002 Dodge pickup. The truck was found, undamaged, by the owner near the north entrance to Penticton later in the day.
