Human resources manager latest senior bureaucrat leaving Penticton City Hall

PENTICTON – Another senior staffer is leaving the employ of the City of Penticton.

Mayor Andrew Jakubeit says human resources manager Gillian Kenny submitted her resignation effective June 2.

Gillian has been employed with the city for 12 years.

“We would like to thank her and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavours,” Jakubeit says in a statement. He says personnel matters are private and confidential, and the he would not be making further comment on her departure.

Kenny joins a lengthening list of city employees that have left the City of Penticton's employ over the past four years, including chief administrative officer Annette Antoniuk in February, 2015.

Facilities and interim chief administrative officer Chuck Loewen left in June 2015, and development services director Jules Hall parted company in July 2016.

Chief administrative officer Eric Sorensen left the City’s employ in August 2016 and Peter Weeber took over the reins in November 2016.

Development services director Anthony Haddad left in October 2014, but was rehired in October 2016.

Communications officer Mark Parker was hired in September 2016 replacing Tina Lee who had replaced Simone Blais earlier in the year.

Jim Bauer was recently hired to replace retiring chief financial officer Colin Fisher in October, 2016.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
