On Sunday, April 9, a parade will be held in downtown Kelowna to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. The march will start on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Armoury on Richter Avenue and travel down Lawrence Avenue to the cenotaph at Veendam Gardens.
A rolling road closure will be in place along Lawrence Avenue between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to accommodate the parade.
Following a short ceremony at Veendam Gardens, the parade will travel back to the Armory at approximately 2 p.m. via Bernard Avenue where a rolling lane closure will be in effect in the eastbound lane.
Motorists are advised to keep an eye out for increased pedestrian traffic in the area. RCMP will be on site directing traffic for the rolling road closures. No parking restrictions will be in place.
