Summerland Seedy Saturday

SUMMERLAND – Summerland Seedy Saturday, a popular community event will be held on Saturday March 25 at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens. 

This event features a number of organic seed growers, bedding plants, & farmers market vendors of local produce and agricultural products.  There will be a seed swap table with free seeds, and attendees are encouraged to bring seeds to give away.  Master Gardeners will be onsite to answer gardening questions and problems. 

Friends of the Gardens will be hosting five workshops, aimed at beginning/novice gardeners.  Waterwise gardening, Grooming & Cleaning Grasses, Composting, Butterfly Gardens, and Planting Early vegetables will all be demonstrated.  A fund raiser for the gardens, there will be compost and rare drought tolerant trees and a fine selection of canna lily bulbs will also be on sale.  There is a suggested $5 for the entire day.  The event runs from 10 am – 4 pm.  Coffee, tea and food will be available onsite.
