Spring into Travel at YLW this weekend

Kelowna International Airport (YLW)’s annual Spring Travel Event will take place on Saturday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can meet with air carriers, travel agents, hotels and resorts to get helpful travel tips and information on popular vacation destinations.

“This year, we have a fantastic lineup of booths for participants to connect with and learn about exciting new travel options from YLW,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director. “Best of all, the money raised from the prize ballots will be donated to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada.”

The Sunshine Foundation makes dreams come true for children living with severe disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. The Dream Programs are once-in-a-lifetime experiences for kids, helping build confidence, create joyful memories and inspire them to have a more positive outlook on life. The Foundation also operates Dream Lift day, which YLW participates in on a bi-annual basis, transporting a plane full of children to a Disney theme park and back in just one day.

YLW and its partners are giving away five prize packages, including:

  • Air North, Yukon's Airline? Yukon adventure for two, including airfare and accommodation celebrating Canada's 150th Anniversary
  • Central Mountain Air? return trip for two from Kelowna to Prince George, Terrace, Smithers, Fort St. John or Fort Nelson
  • Pacific Coastal Airlines? airfare for two and a two-night stay at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino? in Cranbrook
  • $250 Transat? Future Travel Voucher
  • $200 Air Canada Vacations? Travel Voucher & four Maple Leaf Lounge passes

Ballots for the prize draw are $5 for 1 or $10 for 3 and will only be available at the event. Free parking will be provided in the long-term lot during event hours. Attendees are required to bring in their parking voucher to be validated.
