UPDATE: No serious injuries in Penticton Channel Parkway rollover

PENTICTON – A collision that caused a minivan to rollover closed the Channel Parkway in Penticton for about an hour this afternoon.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m., Feb. 28, in the intersection of Channel Parkway and Green Avenue.

Capt. Mike Wade of the Penticton Fire Department says one vehicle was northbound while the other was turning onto Green Avenue. The vehicle that was turning clipped the northbound minvan, causing it to roll a couple of times before coming to a rest on its roof.

The occupants of both vehicles were able to get out of the vehicles on their own. Wade says the people inside the minivan were taken to Penticton Regional Hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle wasn't hurt.

Wade said both vehicles were towed from the scene. RCMP and firefighters remained on scene for approximately an hour to investigate and clean up the scene

The Channel Parkway has since reopened to traffic in both directions.
