Kelowna Fire Department Christmas tree chipping for charity

KELOWNA – Residents can take their Christmas trees to be chipped at Kelowna Fire Hall Station 1 and 4 on Jan. 7 and 8, with all proceeds going to charity.

“The Kelowna Fire Department is excited to host another year of Christmas tree chipping,” says Rick Euper, Kelowna Fire Inspector. “It’s a great, environmentally-friendly alternative to burning, and your donation goes to a great cause.”

Trees will be chipped to raise money for the BC Burn Fund and will take place at Station 1, located at 2255 Enterprise Way, and Station 4, located at 619 Dehart Road, on Jan. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

Residents are reminded to remove all decorations and tinsel before dropping off trees.

Chipping is done by donation with all proceeds going to the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund. The Fire Department has teamed up with Bartlett Tree Service and Okanagan Portable signs to provide this service.
