Vernon Golf and Country Club hit by thieves twice in 24 hours

“SURVEILLANCE VIDEO… SHOWED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A MALE WEARING A SANTA HAT”

VERNON – Police say a Vernon business was the victim of two thefts in under 24 hours.

Officers were called to the Vernon Golf and Country Club on Kalamalka Lake Road around 6 a.m. on Dec. 6, and again at roughly 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, for reported break and enters.

Both times, the culprit made off with a number of liquor bottles, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says in a media release.

In the second break-in, Noseworthy says video surveillance “showed what appeared to be a male wearing a Santa hat.”

At this point, it is unclear if the break-ins are related.

“Both incidents are being actively investigated,” Noseworthy says in the release.

Police are asking anyone with information about either of the crimes to contact the Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
