Tire conditions may have contributed to Salmon Arm car crash

SALMON ARM – Road conditions coupled with the condition of the car’s tires may have led to a crash over the weekend in Salmon Arm.

Police were called around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, for a report of a single vehicle rollover east of Salmon Arm towards Sicamous, Sgt. Scott West says in a media release.

Initial information suggested there was one occupant outside of the car, however when police and ambulance personnel arrived on scene there was no one to be found.

“Subsequent search of the area revealed there were no injured people in the immediate area,” West says, adding further inquires revealed the driver had left the area.

The driver has since contacted police as a result of messages left with family and at recent residences, West says.

“It is believed that the road conditions coupled with the condition of the vehicle’s tires may have been a contributing factor in the single vehicle collision,” West says.
