Charge laid in Penticton Minor Hockey League fraud case
PENTICTON – A former Penticton Minor Hockey League official has been charged with fraud following a RCMP investigation.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police were alerted by officials with the Penticton Minor Hockey that payments to referees were going missing and they had a suspect in mind.
Police investigated this spring and charged the organization's interim referee-in-chief with fraud, he says.
The alleged offences took place during last year's hockey season.
Glenn Charbonneau has been dismissed by the hockey association and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov.16.
