Maple Ridge man killed on ATV

KAMLOOPS – An ATV crash north west of Kamloops has claimed the life of a 69 year old Maple Ridge man.

Kamloops Rural RCMP say the man was riding with a relative off Tranquille-Criss Creek Road around noon Saturday. They were in an area just north of Red Lake on a logging road called Old Miner Road.

He hit a large boulder and lost control of the ATV. He rolled down a 50’ embankment.

The Maple Ridge man was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP don’t think that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident. The police haven't released the victims name.

The BC Coroners Office is investigating, along with the Kamloops South East District Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and Kamloops Rural RCMP.
