Man airlifted to Kamloops hospital after weekend motorcycle crash in Shuswap

CHASE – A man was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Inland Hospital after crashing his motorcycle in the Shuswap on the weekend.

RCMP say around 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, B.C. Ambulance services reported the collision to police.

Sgt. Gary Heebner says in a media release the man had failed to negotiate a left turn on Little Shuswap Lake Road about 12 kilometres east of Chase and was thrown into the ditch.

The rider was taken by helicopter to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries.

Heebner says road conditions, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

RCMP have not released the man's identity.
