August could bring high temperatures, rain and storms

OKANAGAN – August is expected to start off with high temperatures, but may bring rain and thunderstorms as well, says Environment Canada.

Today, Monday Aug. 1 should be sunny with clear skies. Expect temperatures to reach the high 20s with Penticton predicted to be the warmest at 29 Celsius.

Tuesday isn't looking good. Expect showers and a risk of thunderstorms starting early in the afternoon. A high of about 23 C is predicted.

As of right now, Wednesday isn't going to be much better. Mixed sun and clouds with a 30 per cent chance of showers is forecasted for midweek.

Things should start to turn around on Thursday. Expect sunny skies with a high of 30 C, dropping down to 11 C in the evening.
