iN PHOTOS: Beautiful backyard birds brighten up winter in Kamloops, Okanagan

Many birds visiting the Thompson-Okanagan region fly south for the winter but there are some that stick around and brave the winter months feeding on nuts and seeds from trees, bushes and feeders.

There are many backyard birds in the province that stay all year round, from European starlings, to house finches, red-breasted nuthatches, Steller’s jays and downy woodpeckers, according to birdadvisors.com.

Some of these birds really add a pop of colour to our often dreary winter landscapes, and photographers across Kamloops and the Okanagan have captured them on camera.

If you have photos of birds in your neighbourhood you want to share, send them to news@infonews.ca.
