CALGARY – Swift Current Broncos head coach Devan Praught was handed a five-game suspension on Thursday for violating the Western Hockey League’s standards of conduct.
The violation occurred during a team practice on Nov. 13, the league said in a release.
The investigation was conducted by the WHL security network. Details of the violation were not provided.
The Broncos announced on Nov. 14 that Praught had been suspended indefinitely and that assistant coach Taras McEwen would assume head coaching duties until further notice.
Praught has served three games of the suspension and has two games left to serve, the league said.
