UPDATE: Initial attack crew extinguishes grass fire east of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – B.C. Wildfire crews put out a grass fire east of Kamloops yesterday.

Fire information officer Melissa Klassen says an initial attack crew of three firefighters were sent to the blaze eight kilometers east of Barnhartvale, July 21. They put out a 10-by-10 metre fire smouldering in grass and sagebrush.

It didn't pose a threat to any structures or people, though it is suspected to be human caused.

The location of the grass fire was outside of the city’s fire department jurisdiction.
