Take in a pow wow or the Peach Classic, among other things this weekend

PENTICTON – From native culture to sports, there’s a variety of things to do in and around Penticton this weekend.

The Four Seasons Cultural Society hosts a pow wow at Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School, July 15, 16, and 17. Admission is $2, ages 65 and up are free. Everyone is welcome. The event kicks off with a salmon barbecue July 15 at 4 p.m. Grand entry begins at 7 p.m. To find the Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School, take Green Mountain Road at the Channel Parkway and follow the signs. See the Four Seasons Cultural Society Facebook page for more information.

The Okanagan’s oldest triathlon race takes place in Penticton on Sunday, July 17. The Peach Classic Triathlon gets underway on the Penticton Okanagan Lake waterfront at 7 a.m. with a standard Olympic distance event and a sprint event. For registration and other information, see the Peach Classic web site.

The Sunshine Cabaret Summer Concert Series takes place in Gyro Park Friday,  July 15 with Nankama & Sim Sim Salabim. Saturday’s performance features Dirty Mountain. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to Gyro Park, rain or shine. Showtime is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Penticton Speedway’s third annual Bull-A-Rama takes place this weekend at the race track on Carmi Avenue, Saturday, July 16 at 6 p.m.
