Folks in Merritt are still fed up with Interior Health’s constant closures of their local emergency department so another rally is happening this afternoon.
The emergency department at the Nicola Valley Hospital is supposed to be open 24/7 but Interior Health has closed it eight time so far in 2023.

The situation is dire, according to the Nicola Valley ER Crisis Facebook group, which is hosting the event.
“If you care, be there at Central Park by the RCMP building,” the poster says. “Rally with us: your life may depend on it!”
The rally happens today April 30, from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
