DELTA, B.C. – An anesthesiologist in British Columbia is facing a second charge of sexual assault.
Police in Delta say Dr. Olumuyiwa Bamgbade, who operated a pain clinic in that community before relocating it to neighbouring Surrey, faces another charge of sexual assault over an alleged incident in 2019.
Bamgbade was first charged last year with sexual assault in Surrey after RCMP say a woman reported being assaulted while she was having a physical exam.

Delta police say the RCMP announcement prompted two other complainants to come forward alleging they had been sexually assaulted while receiving treatment by the doctor.
Investigators in Delta say they were able to establish enough evidence for the Crown to lay charges in one of the reported incidents but not in the second case.
Delta police also investigated Bamgbade in 2020 over an allegation of sexual assault but say Crown counsel declined to approve a charge as the threshold of “substantial likelihood of conviction” could not be met.
