Volunteers wanted for Kelowna events

KELOWNA – Tired of laying on the beach? Want something new to add to your schedule on those long summer days?

The City of Kelowna is calling for volunteers for their many outdoor events.

Upcoming volunteer opportunities include:

The city is using Volinspire, an online platform to engage volunteers and aid in organization, to plan its outdoor events. 

Regular volunteer activity can have a positive effect on mental and physical health, according to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

“The benefits of volunteering are endless. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, make new friendships, give back to your community and inspire others to do the same,” City of Kelowna event development supervisor Mariko Siggers says in a release.
