CALGARY – Ryan Poehling set up two goals before scoring the winner, and the Laval Rocket edged the Stockton Heat 4-3 in overtime on Thursday in American Hockey League action.
Jordan Weal had a pair of first-period goals and an assist to help Laval topple Stockton in a matchup of the top two teams in the Canadian Division.
Alex Belzile also scored for the Rocket (9-4-1), who blew a 3-0 lead before pulling off their third straight victory.
Alexander Yelesin, Luke Philp and Matthew Phillips responded for the Heat (8-4-0), who have lost back-to-back outings following an eight-game win streak.
Cayden Primeau made 25 saves for Laval, while Louis Domingue stopped 26-of-30 shots for Stockton.
