Police say burned vehicle found after shots fired in Delta, B.C.

DELTA, B.C. – Police believe a targeted shooting in Delta, B.C., is linked to a vehicle fire more than 30 kilometres away in Langley.

Police say the shooting happened Sunday as the occupants of two vehicles drove through a normally quiet North Delta neighbourhood.

No injuries have been reported and both vehicles left the area but the statement says one vehicle, believed to be related to the gunfire, was found burned in Langley.

Police say there’s no immediate information connecting the occupants or the vehicles to locations or incidents in Delta.

The statement says it’s believed everyone involved was passing through the municipality when the violence occurred.

Shell casings and other evidence have been collected from the shooting scene and police have left the area but say the investigation remains active.
