UPDATE: Body discovered near SS Sicamous identified as Penticton woman

PENTICTON – The body discovered in Okanagan Lake near the SS Sicamous in Penticton on the weekend is that of local woman.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the 51-year-old woman's body was pulled from Okanagan Lake at the end of the jetty behind the SS Sicamous at approximately 11 a.m. on  Saturday morning, May 7. Investigators were on the scene until 8 p.m.

Police and the B.C. Coroners Service have determined the woman's death is not suspicious.

RCMP are not releasing the woman's identity or any other information about her death.
