VANCOUVER – North Shore Rescue says a female hiker has been rescued from Grouse Mountain, a popular outdoor destination on Vancouver’s north shore.
According to the search-and-rescue organization’s Twitter feed, crews were sent to find the hiker around 9:30 a.m. Monday after she became stuck on a cliff on the south side of the mountain.
The rescue comes after a busy long weekend for the group, which also responded to calls to extract two hikers with broken bones near Lions Bay south of Squamish and Norvan Falls on the north shore on Sunday.
North Shore Rescue extracted those two hikers by helicopter.
Rescue team leader Mike Danks told News 1130 that North Shore Rescue prepared for a busy weekend by ensuring enough personnel from the team of 50 volunteers remained in town.
