Man rescued from steep cliff near Vernon’s Turtle Mountain

VERNON – A man was rescued from a steep cliff and taken to hospital yesterday afternoon.

Vernon Search and Rescue was called to rescue the man near Turtle Mountain in Vernon yesterday, April 25.

“The injured individual was located at the bottom of a steep cliff, and the rescue team faced difficult conditions, which included a very steep slope, and loose, unstable rock,” Vernon SAR wrote on its Facebook page.

Rescuers helped B.C. Ambulance stabilize the subject, carefully moving him onto a stretcher, and using ropes to transport him down the rock slope to a waiting ambulance.

The man was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with undetermined injuries.
