Administrative changes announced for Okanagan Skaha School District

PENTICTON – Retirements, upcoming school closures and reconfigurations have resulted in a number of administrative changes at the Okanagan Skaha School District.

The school board has announced several changes at the administration level as assistant superintendent Dave Burgoyne and Skaha Lake School principal Dave Brunelle retire.

Director of instruction Don MacIntyre resigned as he moves on to a position in Doha, Qatar.

Reassignments include Trout Creek principal Jeff Redden take on the same position at Giant’s Head Elementary effective August 1.

Giant’s Head Elementary principal Darcy Mullin will move to Summerland Middle School as principal effective August 1.

McNicoll Park Middle School principal Lloyd Lindsay moves to Columbia Elementary where he will become principal, effective August 1.
Columbia Elementary principal Jan Ramsay takes over the Naramata Elementary principal’s position, effective August 1.

Naramata Elementary School principal Todd Lindsay will become principal at Parkway Elementary School on August 1.

Appointed positions will see Todd Manuel, presently director of instruction, take on the student services to assistant superintendent of schools, effective August 1.

West Bench Elementary principal and principal of aboriginal education Allen Beckingham will become district principal of district programs and curriculum, effective August 1.

Kelly Jones, who is currently principal of Parkway Elementary School, has been appointed principal of Carmi Elementary School, effective August 1.

Terry Grady, principal at Princess Margaret Secondary, has been appointed principal of Skaha Lake Middle School, effective August 1.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
