LAVAL, Que. – Michael Hutchinson stopped all 42 shots his way as the Toronto Marlies blanked the Laval Rocket 3-0 on Friday in American Hockey League action.
Dmytro Timashov opened the scoring at 11:51 of the first period for the Marlies (32-19-9) before Michael Carcone doubled the lead at 6:04 of the second.
Pierre Engvall iced it with an empty netter late in the third.
Michael McNiven stopped 21-of-23 shots for the Rocket (24-26-10).
Toronto went 1 for 4 on the power play while Laval failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
