LEWISTOWN, Ill. – Visitors to the Illinois State Museum Dickson Mounds will be introduced to the practice of flintknapping at a “Weekend Knap-in.”

The Sunday event will include the museum’s annual Artifact Identification Day. Museum archeologists and other experts will identify native American artifacts that visitors bring with them. They may also bring prehistoric and historic pieces and other objects such as fossils, bones and rock specimens.
There will be no appraisals.
Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
