GENEVA – Swiss police say a South Korean tourist has died after being hit by a train on a mountain railway.
Police in Schwyz canton (state) said the accident happened in thick fog Monday afternoon on the Rigi mountain in central Switzerland, a popular tourist destination.
A police statement Tuesday said the 69-year-old man, who had been travelling with a tour group, was hit by a train between the Rigi Staffel and Rigi Kulm stations. It wasn’t clear why he was on the track.
