CONCORD, N.H. – New Hampshire tourism officials are expecting an increase in both visitors and spending this holiday weekend.
Labour Day weekend is typically the state’s second-busiest travel weekend, behind the Fourth of July.
The state Division of Travel and Tourism expects about 660,000 visitors will spend $95 million between Saturday and Monday. That amounts to a 3.5 per cent increase in visitors and a 5 per cent increase in spending compared to last year.
Officials base the projections on strong consumer confidence, reasonable gas prices and a sunny weather forecast.
