Trailer set up for grow op

Expect some arrests over the coming days as the investigation into a marijuana grow operation in Kamloops continues.

Just after 2 p.m. Friday, RCMP officers and police dogs paid a visit to a trailer at 891 East Shuswap Road. They were executing a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

They found the trailer had been converted from a home to a large-scale grow op.

Police seized about 200 marijuana plants that were just about to be harvested, dried and sold. Investigators figure the weed has a street value of several hundred thousand dollars.

No one was home when police showed up. But the RCMP know who owns the property and they have a good idea who had been cultivating and caring for the marijuana plants.
