SAN FRANCISCO – Police are searching for suspended Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith who is suspected of domestic violence.
San Francisco police said Sunday that Smith fled a San Francisco home at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday after someone called the police to report a domestic violence incident.
Sgt. Michael Andraychak says the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
The 28-year-old is serving an indefinite suspension for violating the NFL’s rules on substance abuse. His application to the NFL commissioner for reinstatement was initially denied in 2016 and is still pending.
The troubled linebacker has been arrested several times on charges of drunken driving, public intoxication and illegal possession of assault rifles since the San Francisco 49ers drafted him in 2011 in the first round.
