Coroner identifies man in 97C accident near Merritt
MERRITT – The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the man who died in a traffic accident on Highway 97C east of Loon Lake July 25.
He was William John Jones, 75, of Merritt.
Jones was the driver of the pickup truck and heading west at about 3:40 p.m. when he hit the rear of a transport truck with two trailers. Jones was transported from the scene by helicopter to Kelowna General Hospital but died soon after arrival.
Jones family has been notified of his death. The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate his death.
