KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities in Tennessee say a homeless man who was shot by an officer after grabbing her Taser faces charges including resisting arrest.
News outlets report Timothy Tillery was arrested Sunday after Knoxville Police Officer Manessa Mayes determined he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.
A Knox County Sheriff’s Office news release says Tillery resisted her attempts to place him into custody and gained control of her Taser. The officer then fired and struck Tillery in the arm. He was taken to a hospital and treated. It’s unclear if he’s got a lawyer. A woman who was with Tillery was questioned and released.
