Canada Day at Gyro Park
PENTICTON – Canada looks pretty spry for being 146 years old.
The country's birthday will be celebrated at Penticton's Gyro Park all day and into most of the night. Free cake and balloons will be available until they run out and there'll be silly stuff for children to do until 3 p.m.
A community market runs until 5 p.m. The opening ceremonies take place at 12 p.m. Throughout the day, volunteers will get to cool off in the Penticton Resource Recovery Society dunk tank. Fireworks will be exploding over Okanagan Lake at 10:30 p.m.
The first musicians to perform at Gyro Park will be Uncorked at 12:30 p.m., then Darylectones, Oceans and Lights, Bahiti Belly Dance, DJ Abrupt and Kid Kong, Aiden and Mandy, Fluxx, Get Bent Belly Dance and Flashback at 7:30 p.m.
