Okanagan, Shuswap offenders face multiple charges following Alberta bust

PENTICTON – Three prolific offenders from the Southern Interior have been removed from the streets following a crime spree which ended with their arrests in Alberta.

Edson RCMP reports the arrest of three individuals linked to a crime spree involving break and enters and thefts spanning several communities in both British Columbia and West-Central Alberta since January.

The Edson, Alta., detachment, with assistance from the Penticton detachment, arrested two men and a woman in a residence in Peers, Alta., on Feb.25.

Bree-Anne Buhler, 21, of Kelowna, William Gaddy, 25, of Osoyoos, and Waylon Faulhafer, 22, of Scotch Creek, were apprehended and face seven joint charges, including:

– Possession of stolen property over $5,000
– Possession of stolen property under $5,000
– Explosives possession
– Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
– Unsafe storage of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm while unauthorized
– Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Additional individual charges have been laid against Buhler, who also faces breach of probation and breach of recognizance.

Gaddy also faces an additional charge of breach of probation, while Faulhafer has also been charged with possession of a firearm contrary to order.

The investigation continues and the RCMP anticipate additional charges.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
