Victim’s father erupts after court decision
"YOU MURDERED MY SON"

A father left the Kamloops courthouse outraged Friday afternoon over consequences handed to the man who killed his son in a car accident nearly three years ago.
"You murdered my son," he yelled as he was escorted out by sheriffs on duty after a long slur of profanities targeting the accused.
Jean-Paul Kowal was convicted of dangerous driving causing death after hitting and killing 17-year-old Donovan Pippus of Salmon Arm with his car near Enderby in September, 2010.
Kowal was acquitted on the charge of impaired driving. B.C. Supreme Court Justice Dev Dley said he found reasonable doubt whether Kowal was impaired at the time.
In Kowal's testimony, he told the courts he had drank alcohol after the accident. A sentencing date following the conviction has yet to be determined.
