The Latest: Brush fire burns small area in western LA County

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – The Latest on a brush fire in western Los Angeles County (all times local):

1:50 p.m.

Los Angeles County firefighters have held a small brush fire in the Agoura Hills area to less than five acres.

The fire erupted at midday Thursday in the Liberty Canyon area near U.S. 101.

Locally gusty Santa Ana winds have been blowing in Southern California, but the region has also been dampened by above-normal rain and more showers are expected Friday and Saturday.

Firefighters are battling a small brush fire in the Agoura Hills area of western Los Angeles County.

The fire erupted at midday Thursday and has grown to three or four acres in the Liberty Canyon area near U.S. 101.

The county Fire Department has sent 190 firefighters and helicopters to make water drops.

Locally gusty Santa Ana winds have been blowing in Southern California, but the region has also been dampened by above-normal rain and more showers are expected Friday and Saturday.
