HOUSTON – The Latest on the missing son of U.S. Rep. John Conyers (all times local):
1:15 p.m.
Longtime U.S. Rep. John Conyers says his family has notified the FBI and is “very worried” about the disappearance of his 21-year-old son in Texas.
The Detroit Democrat told The Detroit News (http://detne.ws/2fZEGIo ) on Thursday that his son, Carl Conyers, is “a very stable young guy” and that it’s not like him to disappear. The University of Houston student was last seen Tuesday by his roommate.
Houston police spokesman Kese Smith says the department is working with the FBI and Secret Service to find the missing student. Smith says the Secret Service is involved because Carl Conyers is the son of a congressman.
John Conyers was first elected to Congress in 1964 and is its longest-serving member.
