Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 31 cents, or 2.15 per cent, to $14.11 on 8.2-million shares.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Up 40 cents, or 3.96 per cent, to $10.50 on 1.1-million shares. One of BlackBerry’s top sales executives says the company will release a new smartphone with its distinctive physical keyboard within six months. The comment was made in a BBC video interview published Wednesday, a week after the Canadian smartphone pioneer announced it would stop doing hardware development in-house.
