Friend recalls torment wife’s severe brain injury caused man

HARRISBURG, Pa. – A Pennsylvania man who befriended an Ohio couple after the woman was injured by a five-pound rock dropped from an interstate overpass onto their car is recalling her husband as deeply devoted to her and plagued by the severity of the wounds she suffered.

Jeff Farrow said Tuesday he’s unsure why Randy Budd killed himself Saturday, but recalled how difficult it was for him to see Sharon Budd suffering.

Farrow says Randy Budd “would try to wind down and just cry and cry and cry,” saying he couldn’t believe what happened to her.

Four central Pennsylvania teens were convicted and sentenced to incarceration after pleading guilty or no contest for participating in the July 2014 attack on Interstate 80.

Sharon Budd suffered brain damage and lost her right eye.
