Police: 5-year-old boy shot to death in Cincinnati home

CINCINNATI – Police say a 5-year-old boy had died after being shot in the head in his Cincinnati home.

The child was with his 11-year-old brother on the second floor when the incident happened just after noon on Saturday.

Police tell The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/29F7LWb ) the older brother brought the boy downstairs to his mother, who called 911. The child was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His name hasn’t been released. An investigation is continuing.

The shooting happened in the city’s Madisonville neighbourhood and was the second this week involving a young child.

Police say a man and a 2-year-old child were shot and wounded as the man was placing the child in a vehicle Wednesday night. Thirty-five-year-old Ernest Cephas has been arrested on charges of felonious assault.
